ezgo txt pds 2008 over heating contoller

It runs good for about 30 minutes then shuts down for a few then goes again. Code 2-3. Checked heat sink bolts, checked all high voltage connections, it has a new solenoid, rolls free, Batteries 38.4 after 12 hours. What am i missing?

The batteries drop to 36.6 while driving, return to 38.2 after sitting for a few minutes.

36.6 is a little low for normal driving so may have a failing motor causing higher resistance and pulling more current hence the overheating. Check the motor and see if it is getting warm.

The 08 PDS controller is nearing the end of it's useful life. The shutdown will come more frequently and take longer to restart until one day it just does not come back on.
Replace with an Alltrax XCT400 control and 200 solenoid for 25-30% more power and 22-23 mph on stock tires with the stock motor.
