Motor swap work GE didn't didn't help. It gets hotter faster. My only crazy thought on that, was that it has a thinner case that would dissipate the heat easier. Gonna call D&D tomorrow to see what torque motor they recommend.

Hello, I think if it was going to come down to changing the motor and controller on a limo cart to haul passengers I would seriously look into an AC conversion kit. Probably very closely priced and very efficient.

I've done a few of those, but this is for a church and trying to do it as cheap as possible. I had already replaced the stock 250 amp with a 350 Curtis. Hoping to be able to get a torque motor that will work with that 350. Performance is not an issue with them, just not overheat and cut back.

I've got a torque motor coming, recommended from Jeff at D&D that should handle the load of this cart and work fine with this 350 amp controller. Maybe this will solve the issue. Got to move the shock to make it for. Any tips on the easiest way to do that? I've seen on here where it has had to be done, but I haven't done one yet.

My advice would be to sell the limo cart. And get two 4 pass carts.
I've seen customers struggle disproportionately with limo carts over the years.
They are just an engineered failure looking to happen. It is just too much weight.
You might try this for the shock mount.

I agree. They do have a 4 seater EZGO also. I thought I wanted one for my personal use, but I've had 2 in my shop with this same issue, which has helped change my mind.
Thanks for the shock tip!

Installed the motor from D&D today. So far issue is solved. loaded down the cart with 4 250+ individuals and rode a while up some hills. Motor does get a little warm, but not hot! Doesn't conduct back through the cables like before.
Also I did remove the shock to install the motor, but there was enough room to reinstall the shock on the original mounts.
