CCP Motor Confusion
Afternoon fellow Buggy'rs.. I have an 06 CCP that I believe electrically is pretty much 'standard' so to speak.. That said it has a lithium upgrade and has a commander motor,( on it when I bought buggy) I have bypassed the OBC when doing lith upgrade.
I assume the commander is just an upgraded basic CCP motor as it says that on motor along with commander information. my question is this. Are there brushless motors available for the buggy is a BLDCM an option? Are the A/C motor options basically BLDCMs? I havent studied them much however my hand power tools that are brushless seem to be much stronger and more efficient. Any input would be appreciated. Only considering what might better overall performance. |

Re: CCP Motor Confusion
The AC motors these use are basically brushless DC. The controller switches phases among three coils in the motor. Faster, yes, more efficient yes assuming you drive it like a normal person. If you pop wheelies every time you drive the cart then it will not be more efficient, though it will be more fun until the axle breaks.
Look up the Navitas AC conversion kits. Silver Wolf also makes one that is a bit more pricey but it crazy powerful. |

Re: CCP Motor Confusion
Thanks for reply. I was thinking the AC conversions were basically BLDC motors however hadnt done that much research at this point. I don't jump on the pedal when I run it ( meaning no wheelies for this guy) not saying here or there I may step on it but usually it is an easy start and stop. I will look up the ac conversions as recommended. thx
