As long as I can keep the belt dry it will go thru 12 or more inches of fresh powder, it may take rocking back and forth a few times, but once a trail is made it goes pretty good. I made a makeshift skid plate that keeps the belt dry and will install it for the winter.

After a few drinks with friends last night, it came time to go down to the beach for a bit. As it turned out we weren't the only ones with the idea. I eased the cart out on the ice & never heard any cracks. By the end of the night I had the cart 50' or 60' out from the shore without any cracks at all...... doing donuts & powerslides, pulling our friends around on their skates, etc.

It looks like the lake froze in two stages. The first one goes out to about 200' from the shore. Then the middle froze a few days later. The whole lake is frozen now (about 700 acres) & people were walking around way out in the middle last night. I'll probably bring a chainsaw down today & cut a hole in it to see how thick it is. But so far so good!

cool! i run my cart all winter here in ontario, and if you keep the belt dry and your momentume up, they do farly well. i've pushed mine through 2' of powder going through the diches! the only thing that kills you is the open diff.

Sorry I don't. I haven't put it on yet this season.

I used 2 black vinyl mud flaps from Auto Zone, zip screwed them together end to end, drilled some holes in both ends and ziptied it underneath, I wrapped it partially around the rear axle and it reached the skid plate on the front side and it worked well keeping the belt dry and snow free.
