Jacobsen hauler year by serial number?

I'm looking at a Jacobsen hauler 4800 (v-twin) anyone know if there is a way to tell the year by the serial? (it does have the poly box) serial 22800xx. thanks SB

Is it the same as an EZGO ST 480? On Textron items (Ezgo / Jacobsen / Cushman), you need the manufacturer number to get the year on carts pre 2004...

Thanks Mike, yes same as ST-480, wonder when they started with the poly box, I know my 01s had steel.

It should have the same manufacturing code identification as all ezgos, they started putting the code on the frames under the seat areas on later workhorse carts, it's the same as the st480. Jacobsen quit re-badging ezgo carts and now limits their line to trucksters and will include ezgos carts in course packages but they still carry the ezgo name. with the poly bed I would guess it's a 05-07 model but thats only a guess. they're great carts no matter what year.

Thanks Ruredy, it's about 125 miles from me but I'm going to take a look, he thought it was about 10 years old but I was thinking newer too.

BTW, my daughter used to live in Clover, didn't you have a big lottery winner there a few years back?

There's been a couple of big winners here localy but unfortunetly they didn't spread any of the wealth in my direction.

You can call Jacobsen and see if they can enlighten you on the year from the serial number, it may even be on there web site if you look under the customer care parts section. Jacobsen was selling those carts as cushman commanders 4800 and it wasn't till 05 or so they started putting the Jacobsen name on it. not real sure when it was and there's no telling with the way you can change parts around on them but without knowing the deal you have going on it's probably an off lease cart that's only 3-4 years old. I use to buy carts from them but now I only deal with them when I have to. I haven't talked with anyone over there in a year or so.

I'm trying to remember back from my golf course days on the boxes. In my area I believe it was around 2005 for the poly boxes?

I thought E-Z-GO changed model years in July not in January? So wouldn't this be a 2005?
