What engine do you have, the 295 or the 350?

2 stroke engine..... This question (how do I get more power out of my old 2 stroke cart?) has to be the most asked question on this forum. personally i'd sell it and get a 4 stroker....... but, you can bore it out as much as possible, run the gm hei ignition, some carb and exhaust work. that should get you a couple of extras hp,

I would definitely go 4 stroke if power is what you want. There is a lot more upgrades available.

There are two places to get the cc size most of the time. On the front side of the engine, passenger side just behind the air breather box there will be a plastic shroud covering the head. Printed on the head should be a EH29 or a EH35. Some of the four stroke engines will have the displacement on the timing cover just above the clutch.

FYI..... 89 should be a 3pg 244cc 2 stroke. if it only has 1 spark plug it's a 2 stroke. they didn't even make the 4 strokes till late 91 and all of them were 295. the 350 came out in 94 or 95.
