cart with no batteries. Any way to test motor?

I often see electric carts for sale that have no batteries is there a way to function test the cart shot of showing up with a pile of batteries? Will 12v and jumper cable atleast turn the motor to make sure it works?

The motor is rarely the problem with a cart, you're more likely to have control, corrosion or wiring problems.

I seem to be seing alot of early to mid 90s club cars with no batteries in them. Do they take 6v or 8v batteries? How many? Ive never owned an electric cart and currently have a gas yamaha which we tow a race car with. I figured an electric would be alot better for neighborhood use. So any and all info or advice is more than welcome.

How does one tell if a cart is a 36 or 48 volt? is the motor marked? I see they made bolth in the early to mid 90s

How do they look like they are supose to be arranged? If looks like six in 2 rows would be 6

I was asking for a reference so I would know what to look for. After considering the cost of batteries and the weight of an electric cart with batteries its really not worth it to me. It actually comes out to be more then we paid for the g16 or the late model gas club car. Not to mention I dont know a thing about em. Ill stick to fuel, air, spark lol
