G8 gas stop switch test
how do i check my stop switch on my g8 gas?golf cart wont shut off.i put a new selinoid on it and still wont shut off.thanks

Put your multi meter on "continuity" (makes a bussing sound when you touch the 2 prongs together).
Unhook the 2 wires going to the pedal switch,(key off, shifter in neutral, for safety). Then touch the prongs, one to each lead of the switch. Then push the throttle down to close or cycle the switch. When you push the throttle down, the meter should buzz. Do this test many times to test the switch for intermittent operation. Sounds like your switch might be stuck in the closed position, (meaning the minute you turn the key on, the car tries to start.) Switch might not be adjusted correctly, is an outside chance, that may be the culprit. If the switch seems to be working, you have to go the the top of the food chain, "MR. SMALLBLOCK"! |
