runs poor
Helping a freinds with his yamaha g14 one has to choke I a lot to keep it running at a normal speed changed fuel filter no change any suggestions ?

Sounds like basic tune up is needed. New spark plug, fuel filter (which he already did), some treatment in the fuel (or drain and replace). I run 93 octane in mine just because. Clean the air filter while you're there. If that doesn't work after replacing those and then running it around for 20 minutes or so post back.
FYI- Spark plug gap on new one should be .028-.031. |

Also he needs to make sure his air box is sealed really well. These Yamahas are really finiky when it comes to fuel air mixture and if the air box is leaking it will cause you to need to choke it to run right.
