New Shocks for my EZGO TXT?
Hey Guys,
I'm busy upgrading my (former) fleet TXT EZGO cart. Most of the work is done - it's lifted, new motor, new controller, etc.... Anyway - while on a routine visit under the cart - I notice the shocks appear to be definitely original - so would you guys recommend changing them out - or am I just making myself feel better by throwing more new parts at this thing? I believe there are 2 shocks in the front - one in the back. Are there some upgraded shocks I should consider? I'm assuming the leaf springs are still ok. What do you think? Thanks! |

1 in the back? A TXT uses 4 shocks, and they are all the same part number. They are different than automotive shocks, more like dampers than shocks. If the old ones move in-out very freely then they are shot. I always like to see HD springs on a lifted cart to help combat the leaning. And yes, it will make the ride firmer.

Gornoman,
I love your "Not this *&^%" again graphic - that is classic. And low and behold - there certainly are four of them (shocks) on my TXT (duh on my part). So the HD springs will keep the cart from being "tippy" (leaning) you say? I see they are not that expensive - but how easy/hard would you say the would be to install. Looks like 2 bolts...but sometimes looks can be deceiving.... Thanks! |

Nothing tricky ,You will need a jack and a jack stand do one side at a time. Take wheel off you will see more bolts at the rubber saddle and 1 at each end of spring. Spring will weigh maby about 20 lbs for the 4 leaf About an hour of time . GOOD LUCK
