![]() i just got this thing and it was all good, but now it is doing something weird .it will start and idle fine and then run about ten feet and starts sputtering,if u pull out the choke a little it will start all over again.i did notice that the f/r lever is a little loose and it will die sometimes from it moving a little

![]() You are describing two different kinds of problems.... If the F&R is the cause you have and electrical contact problem within the F&R or perhaps an intermittent microswitch activated by the F&R......If the chock fixes the problem that is likely a fuel system problem? You need to sort this out a bit more...

![]() sorry ,i think it has something to do with the carb ,it is acting like the choke is on and flooding but u can pull out the choke about half and it will start running again for a sec then start sputtering again.the f/r is acting up to but i think the contacts just need cleaning

![]() the tank isn't air tight. if the fuel comes out you it needs to be replaced by air.
it kinda sounds to me like bad crank seals. when you are chocking it you are cutting off air to make up for what it is sucking in through the seals. just a though -Aaron |

![]() You probably already checked this but check the butterfly itself, make sure it did not come loose and is flopping on the shaft, pulling the choke could be stabilizing the butterfly plate thus letting it run but at the wrong choke position.

![]() ok ok i know i keep going in circles but i jacked it up were i i could open it up were i could watch it when i give it gas and once it gets going good the fuel filter fills up and start bubbling like it is mixing with air and that is when the engine starts dying like it is flooding

![]() Have you checked for an air leak in the fuel line?

![]() that is true. if they are old you may as well just replace the fuel lines and the filter for good measure. they are cheap!

![]() Sounds like a plugged main jet to me.By chocking it it gets the fuel that it isnt getting from the main.I would clean the carb out real good.
