Yes. The software installation does not enter all of the keys

Okay now I'm totally confused. The versions of software available for download are 1314-4401 V 3.12 Build 35 Patch 4 or 1314-4402 version 4.6.10. Which version should I be using for this cable? I am trying to program a Curtis 1205 controller. I have both versions of software installed and neither reflect any of these mentioned registry entries.

Also, is it possible that these entries do not exist in the registry yet because I have not yet installed the cable nor connected to the controller as of yet?

Another thing is that 'ishootstuff' mention on the first page of the thread that if the drivers are not installed to point them to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Curtis Instruments\1314-4402 PC Programming Station\1309 USB Driver". What's confusing with that statement is that those files are in the latter 4402 version; yet he then states that he is using the 4401 version.

So which version or do both versions work? Which should I install? What exact registry entries over & above the standard OEM install will have to take place, and when will the previously suggested registry entries even exist for me? After cable setuo and controller connected or should they exist before such? Thanks in advance :)

So I wish to clarify the entire procedure from start to finish; before I actually get started on doing anything.

1) Make cable as prescribed.
2) Install Curtis software (ie. 1314-4401 Version 3.12 build 33 Update Patch 2 - except I can only find build 35 - Patch 4 hopefully this is okay?)
3) Reprogram FTDI chip as prescribed and use template & other instructions.
4) If the drivers didn't install, manually install them and point Windows to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Curtis Instruments\1314-4402 PC Programming Station\1309 USB Driver" (BTW - these drivers are part of the later software version 4402 - A bit confused by this as I would also then need to install the 4402 software correct?)
5) Once FTDI cable is connected to controller, Bring up Regedit. Go into HKEY CURRENT USER/Software/Curtis Instruments/1314 CV4/Settings
**Under Name, look for the entry IAL and right click on the name IAL, select Modify Binary Data - For the line 0000, you want to input the values 76 00 31 00 EC 00 44 00 - For the line 0008, it remains 00 00 00
**Do the same for SAL.

If I install the Curtis 1314-4401 software beforehand; I do not see the registry values for SAL v1ìD at all. Are these registry fields created when I first plug in the FTDI cable alone or does the cable also need to be plugged into the controller as well? OR am I completely incorrect about such? OR Do I have to create the actual registry entries SAL & v1ìD manually? If I do, what exactly do I need to enter manually as far as the exact registry entries please?

Did I get anything wrong here or is there anything that I have missed?

Also, can either the 1314-4401 OR the 1314-4402 software be used with the FTDI cable? If so, do I only need to invert Rx and TXT signals with the earlier version 1314-4401 OR?

I sincerely appreciate the assistance :)

Can someone please post exactly what the SAL & IAL entries should look like; so that I may enter them manually if need be? I'm looking for the exact syntax & entries for both please; assuming I have to create them myself. Another words if I have to create the entries from nothing, what exact syntax etc. do I need to enter along with the previous registry values you provided?

Go back and look at post 19. There needs to be an SAL and IAL entry in the registry. If they are both not there it will not work. Software should be not running when doing this.

Thanks for the reply I appreciate it.

All I was actually looking for here was the actual syntax to make the entries (since IAL & SAL entries are not appearing at all in my registry). I believe I understand the correct IAL entry but wasn't sure what the correct value was for SAL?

I believe that the IAL entry is as follows, please correct me if I am wrong:

"IAL" = "v1ìD" (note it is ì and not i, ASCII 141) here.

I'm not sure what the SAL value should =?

"SAL" = "????" (unsure about this one?)

Can you please apprise me of the correct syntax for the SAL entry?
