Battery/Charging Issue?
So I let my Lester charge the cart overnight. Before going to bed it reads 59.x voltage while charging. I wake up, check the app and it shows 100% charge with 50.7v. This seems low to me so I hit charge button and Lester drops from 100% to 66% charge. Can anyone explain this?

Re: Battery/Charging Issue?
Not sure what batteries you have but fully charged Trojans should be 50.93 volts and Crowns should read 50.40 volts. And those voltages are 12 hours after charging ends. I can't explain the %'s you get on the Lester. If you have any other brand of batteries, you'll have to research their finish voltages.
Also you might check each battery with a multi-meter. 8V Crowns should read 8.4V and 8v Trojans should read 8.07. This info is from a chart that I have. My Crown batteries finished charging a little over 12 hrs ago and read 50.4V and the Lester app shows 100% charged. |

Re: Battery/Charging Issue?
Little correction for Trojan batteries, 8.07v = 50%SOC, 8.49v = 100%

Re: Battery/Charging Issue?
These are what I have:
https://electrobatteryinc.com/wp-con...attery3.20.pdf Sounds like 50.7 may be 100% then. Maybe I need to update settings in the Lester App. I hate that thing. I did notice after the last charge, that some battery water came up through the plugs at the top. Maybe it was overcharging? |

Re: Battery/Charging Issue?
I don't think overcharged ( charging voltage stage 3 for your batteries is 10-10.8v, depending of temperature ). Leaking plugs typically were caused by bad seals and/or
overfilled cells. |

Re: Battery/Charging Issue?
Sounds like you filled or top off battery water levels before you charged .
If so that would explain more then normal water overflow. As long as battery plates are covered before charging them.top off water level after recharging. My U S batteries show 50.9 after 12 hour rest off charger. Your batteries appear to be fully charged imo 😊 |
