![]() welcome to bgw eddiejoet!!!!
well here is how u can do it: lock the brakes, grab both sides of the secondary clutch(big one) and spin them in opposite directions, as u do that slide them apart from each other. then just grab the belt and pull it off the secondary and then the primary. to put the new one on just put it on the primary first then do the drape the belt over the secondary, spread the sheeve and the belt will fall in on top then just work it on the rest of the way. it is alot more simple than it looks, haha good luck, post some pics of that machine!! |

![]() Hi,
The 2 GX-444s are different from yamaha clutches ![]() Locking the park/hill brake will prevent you from being able to remove the drive belt. To remove the belt, first remove the dust cover from the driven clutch. Then roll the top of the belt over the top of the driven (on rear end) clutch. Then rotate the driven clutch by hand until the belt pops off. Next, push the govenor arm forward (towards front of car). Twist it so that you can get the narrow edge between the engine cradle and the front of the driven clutch. Then slip it past and again twist the belt so that you can pass it between the movable sheave of the driven clutch and the engine. Once it is past the engine you can remove the belt from the car by removing it from the drive clutch and below the car (you'll see why its easier to drop it from the bottom when you get there ![]() Putting it back on is the easy part of the job. Put it on the drive clutch first, and roll it on to the driven. Bob |

The driven clutch is the silver clutch attached to the rear end. It has two fairly thin disks (sheaves), and is closest to the muffler of the two clutches. You may want to consider taking the car to a dealer for repair. Bob |

![]() Wow glad I have a 83 but just out of curiosity do you use the oil injection? Because if you do I know why you have no power and you may not like what I say

![]() FYI that feed for the oil injection is a big vacuum leak if not hooked up or plugged.
