serial number or model number location??

I'm new to the site but it's great reading and learning. I've got an older cart and I don't know the year, and dealer who sold it to me used, has closed. Where on the cart can I find the model number or serial number or something to indicate what year etc it is? After years of solid use it smokes and I'd like to have the engine overhauled and do some custom work on it.

Great site and love the carts.

serial number or model number location??
They are different. Is oyur cart metal or plastic?

Plastic, the number is inside the passenger glovebox.

Metal (newer) are on the kick panel on the pasenger side, left kick panel.

Metal (older) under the drivers seat.

All on ID plates.

Great Bob....... Let us know what the numbers are. The number that starts with a letter, will indicate the year model with its last 2 numbers.

Finally, I got the numbers, the mftr number is H0395. Would that mean it's a 1995?

Next bothersome question is where would be a good place in Oklahoma to have the motor overhauled as it's smoking like a fog machine and doesn't have much compression. Goes on flat ground but doesn't pull a hill like it used to. Course neither do I.

between okc and tulsa, fairly much in central ok but i could drive a ways to get the right person to overhaul it.

I'm sure there is someone in OKC, but I don't know how good they are. If you want to come on farther south to Wichita Falls, there is a knowlegable and very good mechanic here in town at the golf car shop. About 4 toll booths away, all in Ok. <grin>

Rusty, thanks for your generic answer regarding finding the serial number. I am going to check under the seat. Mine is a very old Taylor Dunn. Metal.
