Default whats the difference between these resistor coils?

A friend bought a cart he is changing out to solid state and had these resistor coils in it. Is there a difference? His are in much better shape and I was thinking of swapping them out.

My current coils are on the left the new ones are on the right with the tag as well.

Great. I thought the right side was newer. I appreciate the response.

Those both look good to me. My old resistor cart was all rusted and really looked bad. Much worse shape than either of those.

The newer one has one bolt.that is longer should that bolt face forward or backwards or does it matter? Gonna replace mine since this is newer.

you would have to look at your carts wring diagram to see how coils are wired
1st speed goes through all coils
4th speed no coils ( longest bolt ?)
