Default G19E Has eight 6 volt batteries??

I came across a 2000 G19E cart today, and it had eight 6 volt batteries in it!!

Is this normal?? I haven't seen a yamaha before that had more than 6 batteries in it. I want to know if these came that way, or if someone did this ?

I will probably install six 8 volt batteries for the guy, it will be alot cheaper.

They even offered new ones that way as an option.

Ok, thanks for that info! The guy is not interested in run time, he is a snowbird and only uses the cart to go to the clubhouse. So, based on that, is there any reason ( other than accessories) why i shouldn't replace them with six 8 volt batteries??

I have never seen a G19 or G22 with 8x 6v batteries (excluding stretch special service vehicles). All our Ydre drives have had 8x 6v for some time now from the factory.

I was surprised when i saw it. The front six batteries are all lined up evenly in a single row, like normal. And the rear 2 batteries are turned 90 degrees and run right behind the row of 6.

This is a 2000 G19E

Front 6 lined up in a row was a feature only common to a G22 in those days (with controller located in rear, above axle). G19 original configuration was closer to a Clubcar DS, with 3 pods of 2 batteries (with controller in the middle, under driver seat near F&r location on gas carts). Where is the controller located? I consider this thing an oddity, i would be looking for evidence of "homemade". I dont see how all these batteries fit, with the stock controller location under the seat.

CG, i will have to revisit this next week. I am suppose to install new batteries, so at this point, i will plan on installing 8 volt batteries. I will take pictures before i remove the old ones, and post them here.

Unless he needs the extra range, I would go with 6 x 8V to save the weight and expense.
