trying to get more speed out of g16
Hey guys been lurking for a while. I have a g16 that I'm trying to make faster. I was wondering if I get the motor built what do I have to do to get more ground speed out of it.

If you've been lurking, then you must have heard about Plowmans.
http://www.plowmanscarts.com/carts.c...1391704457&v=2 This might be the best $ you could spend...Much better than just throwing different parts at it to see what works... |

Re: trying to get more speed out of g16
You need to either increase your top rpm or gear up with larger tires or high speed gears for more ground speed.Certainly tie wrapping your governor will give you more speed but I doubt you can get 30 mph without gearing up somehow. 1) advice is to get a tach to see what kind of rpms you are turning.

Re: trying to get more speed out of g16
Stock engine has little room to go faster once you crank the governor all the way up. You can put a clone engine in that will rev higher with a few cheap parts. You can put HS gears in that will get you gearing about the same as 22 tires. You can lift it and put larger tires on to gear it up.

My stock G16 with 18" tires, governor tie wrapped tight. I can get about 22 mph out of it.

Re: trying to get more speed out of g16
I have gotten to about 33mph out of my g16. I have both of plowmans clutches, belt, air filter, air box mods, and its rejetted. This is also on 23" tires and the governor removed. I dont know if I would want much faster than that as the handling of the cart gets a little nerve racking at times. Keep an eye on RPMs!
