48V charger
so I have a friends 2003 ezgo in my shop right now. I have it all the way torn down getting ready to get sand blasted the frame . well I think I have him talked into going 48v . the cart has a 400amp controller and a 4hp motor . his planes are to jack it up higher then what it is ,like 14 rims and some 27" mud tires . so my question is what would be the best charger for making this cart charge on 48v

Re: 48V charger
I purchased a DPI 48v charger from scottyb and really like it. Cart stays plugged in except for when I am driving it. Keeps batteries topped off and fully charged.

Re: 48V charger
As? I told him I had a 2003 ezgo txt pds 36 volt that I converted to 48 volt and it plugged right in to factory receptacle. I think you can order with any plug you like.

Definitely purchase the DPI Accusense from ScottyB. I am running one as well and love it.

Re: 48V charger
Ditto that. I have a DPI as well and my original batteries lasted 5 years. And that was likely longer than they should have considering I didn't find this forum until 2 years "into cart ownership." Oh the things I did to my cart!!! It makes me wonder why I didn't get arrested by the "cart abuse police."

Re: 48V charger
When I took mine to 48 I went ahead and changed it to the 48 volt triangle plug just so someone didn't get confused and plug in the wrong charger. If you don't want to do that you can get the DPI with just a SB50 plug and make your own harness to plug into.. And ditto on the DPI. I own 3 of them now..
