long traveling a g22
Hello everyone! New to the site and have been away from carts for a long time. I've got a few questions if anyone can help. I've been reading and searching and haven't really found what I'm looking for. I just bought a 2006 g22 with a 6" spindle lift, 12" wheels and 23" tires. I want to do a long travel and have settled on the jakes kit. I really liked the terra toys because of the width of it but seems like it's no longer available.
Could anyone tell me how much further the jakes kit pushes the tire out from stock? Also I seen you can lift it 8" is the 23" tire the biggest that will fit still? I've been trying to find pics of g22's with long travel setups from any brand that makes them but have only found the ones on jakes site so not sure if there aren't many of these carts that are long travel. If anyone has pics no matter the brand and can post them it would be very much appreciated. Thanks to anyone that can help me out with figuring out which lift to go with! |

Re: long traveling a g22
No, just no pictures of G22's with a Jake's long travel. But that is a good way to go, if you have a 22!!
Here is a pic of Jakes on ezgo with aftermarket shocks. |

Re: long traveling a g22
Ok I had read the g22 was a good cart alot so I grabbed one when I found it. Are not many people m doing stuff to these carts? Hopefully these are good carts to modify. I'm planning on building a long travel setup for the rear suspension too. Originally I was going to do the front with an atv long travel but figured there's no reason in the time and trouble if the jakes kit is fairly comparable. Is the g22 a good base to start with or should I choose a different cart before I rip into this one?

Re: long traveling a g22
If this model isn't a good base to build on I'll let the wife cruise around on it and pick up a different cart to build. Everybody's opinions are welcome! Also thanks for the reply above!

Re: long traveling a g22
IMO yamaha is the best built cart. Ezgo usually has a few more things available for it aftermarket you can get the most stuff for those. But you should be able to get most things for yamaha and club cars, all three are very popular and all 3 are lifted and modded, all three are not that much different. Some like the CC alum frame if they are on the ocean it does not rust, its lightweight too. Others don't like it they cant weld alum, the newer CC the engine runs backwards its a problem if you BB it. The yamaha has a nicer front suspension and coilover shocks all around stock, very well built, great engines. Ezgo are popular to build up lot of parts available, but its not quite as nice a cart though it works fine.

Re: long traveling a g22
I think Yamaha is the best cart out there. CC has to many parts, ezgo's are always broke, blown up or they are asking me to fix it!!
That one in the picture here, I had to work on it twice, thank god the guy sold it!! |
