Looks shot to me. I would replace it while you have it apart.

You are right...I thought about this just after posting.I would have to pretty much tear it back down to this level to replace it later on.

I thought about this "easy road" too, but i feel the g19 controller location may prevent that plan.

Cg that's my only concern.I would have to move the batteries back an inch or so just so the controller isn't butted up against the batteries.I'm sure the controller needs at least a little bit of air space to keep cool right?

Making some progress.Got all the rust cleaned off.used 1" sch 40 pipe for the battery tray supports.it's what I had laying around.hopefully I can order the swingarm bushing this week..there is a Yamaha dealer in Rockport.I might call in the morning see if they stock it.I have a feeling they won't have it though.I also need the bolts and clamps to hold down the batteries.cart came with one bolt and one clamp.

Thank you much volt.I'm trying to seal weld everything I can so moisture and corrosion won't have a place to hide.the only part I won't be able to seal weld will be where I have the angle welded back to back.it's only stitched..I coated the 2 mating surfaces with cold galv.I don't know how effective this will be as it was rattle can cold galv.I was thinking of sealing the seams with something after I ospho but I'm not sure with what....suggestions welcome...I could use silicone but the paint won't stick...unless I paint it first and then put the silicone.perhaps bondo? Or perhaps I'm just over thinking?

Got her welded out and tacked on to the cart.need to finish welding to the risers and the cross member in the front then I can move on to paint...I decided not to replace the rocker panel supports as they are not holding much weight.once I rip one off then I'll probably replace it. Please excuse my sloppy work...im working on a caliche driveway on the side of a hill..lol.
