Primary Clutch availability-
This ONLY covers what Yamaha has in stock in their parts warehouse, not dealers, online stores, plowmans, ebay, the guy on the corner, anybody who sells chinese stuff that looks just like oem, ect.... Only Yamahas current stock.

G2-G9 style- Not available as a complete clutch, only as parts.

G16-22 style- JN6-G6201-04 - $447- available.

YDRA '07-'11 "Team"- JW1-G6201-00 - $318- discontinued, no estimated ship date.

YDRA '11-current - JW8-G6201-22 - $342 - available, (new clutch for '07-11, must also change secondary clutch & belt. This clutch is very similar to G2-G9 clutch & uses same belt as G2-G9.

Never mind I found them.

That's a fantastic price. If I had to replace my clutch. I'd still consider replacing with the performance clutch from CPP. http://www.cartpartsplus.com/yamaha-...hi-perf-clutch
is this clutch still a '' another great product from comet industries.''
or a china clone ?

and will it work on a G-29 ?
with the existing driven team unit ?
or do we need to replace both ?

nota - I really don't know the answer to your questions. I'm still running OEM clutches on my 26 year old Yamaha G8. If I had to guess I would say that you need to change the driven as well. I was under the impression that the team clutches only work together and that you can change the primary to the old style without also changing the secondary.

Normally yamaha always has a newer model clutch available to replace any old one. Then they got into that Team mess, it is nice to clear things up. They kind of have to have a clutch available so dealers can repair old carts.

Yep, if your cart has Team clutches, they both have to be Team clutches, or both changed to newer style according to yamaha (makes sense because belt length and width are different for Team clutches than the others).

The stock yamaha primary clutches (not team) have always worked very smoothly and last a million miles, remember how old your cart is if you complain. But they are difficult or impossible to modify if you swap the engine and want more rpm because you modified it for example. I drilled the weights on my G9 clutch and tried other things, it helped with my clone but ended up getting a different clutch that does not work as smooth, but is adjustable and does get the job done. But if you have a stock cart a yamaha clutch is not cheap, but for stock use its worth it IMO. And really its not that far off aftermarket clutches anyway. If you buy one it is very likely you will never touch it again.

Yes this is a Comet clutch, It can be used on the G29 with a different bolt (which I have) as the length is different. It will work with both the team driven clutch or the newer style Yamaha driven clutch.
