G19 makes low humming noise please help!
Please help...I have a 2002 yamaha G19 48v electric cart that is not running. It started by losing the variable throttle (would only go wide open or nothing), then stopped all together. I have replaced the solenoid, had the controller rebuilt, checked all connections on batteries, checked voltage on batteries as a series and individually, checked wiring on ignition, forward/ reverse switch, throttle sensor and all seems to be okay. Now the solenoid engages when I hit the gas pedal, but the cart wont move....just a liw pitch humm from the motor. Any help would be appreciated.

You need to disassemble the motor and look at the commutator and the brushes.

Would the tires still roll when tested?

Take it apart and check the health of the brushes and commutator. They do not fail all at once but worn brushes and a beat up commutator cause excess heat and will eventually kill the motor and possibly the controller too.

Re: G19 makes low humming noise please help!
okay...so I found the problem in the controller and the throttle sensor! now the cart works again but will only go about half the speed it used to. is there some kind of adjustment that is needed with a new throttle sensor....It didn't seem to line up the same way the old one did. and both are Genuine Yamaha parts. I had to adjust the linkage just to hook the pedal back up.
