Default How would a yamaha warrior exhaust sound on G2? Ever tried it?

My factory exhaust was gone when I bought my cart... and in its place was what looked like an old glass pack with no baffling, just hollow. It was way too loud!

I picked up a $10 universal 8-12hp lawnmower muffler for the time being, and welded it to the old flange. It sounds much better but it's temporary. It is too short and directs the exhaust right out and under the seat, which warms your tush.

I can't make myself spend $200-300 for exhaust when I can weld and fabricate my own. I just need to find the right parts.

With that said, I've got an old Yamaha Warrior ATV muffler sitting here. How do you think it will sound and perform? I think the warrior is a 350cc... so should be sufficient.

I may give it a shot. I'll share the results if I do. It looks like I can mount it horizontally across the width of the cart and make a small tailpipe that exits behind the tires. It should send all of the smell and noise out the back.

Thanks
Shawn

I used the muffler from a 450 cc quad on my g9 with a 22 horse Kohler in it and it worked great.

Only way to know for sure how it will work is too give it a try........ I installed a 25hp Kawasaki in my G1 and used a stock Harley muffler on it. Sounds and works great. But I had to try it to know.

Not sure how a stock engine will work a more free flowing muffler, but again, just give it a try since you can weld up your own exhaust, you can always remove the muffer and go with another. In fact, If you make the muffler a slip fit (Which I did with mine) you can try several different mufflers if you want.

Check in the clones or bigblock sections, they have lots of threads on exhausts and mufflers. Generally if the one you pick flows enough for your HP or better it will not be restrictive. Though I would go higher if you run without a governor as more rpm is more flow. Some people have run take off mufflers from rice rockets found cheap on ebay. It depends on how quiet you want it, I run a car muffler and its similar to a big garden tractor, little different tone, I like it. Its real quiet at quarter throttle or less.
