XRT 1500 - Can't stop engine with key

Bought a 2005 Club Car XRT 1500

I should have learned more before the purchase, it has a Honda GX630 in it, everything tells me it should be a GX620.

It runs good but the ignition will not kill the engine.

The wiring is a mess, I have diagrams and manuals, but some wire colors no longer line up with the diagrams, the oil light has been removed from the circuit and I have a few "dead end" wires of various sorts in various places.

I think we have most of it straightened out.

There is the fuel shut off (black/yellow), two gray wires not connected to anything (what are they?), and a black wire.

I do not have a spark unless I ground the black wire.

Decided to cry uncle and ask for help.

How do I connect the ignition switch so that it will kill the engine?

I'm not sure how Club Car does it, but I had the same engine in a Pug SXS. It does not require power for the engine to run. You have to ground the ignition circuit to kill it. There should be a wire on the switch that is an open circuit when the key is on and goes to ground when it is switched off. Hope this helps.

Their model numbers are misleading. I've got a XRT 950 and it has a 480 cc motor.
