Default need advice:oil in breather box

I tried to start my g2 today, it would turn over fine but would only fire off and on. I checked the plug , it was pretty black so I changed it. Same thing so I decided to check a few things and when I checked the breather filter there was quite abit of oil in the bottom of the air box. I left the filter out and the motor runs fine. What should I do to solve the oil getting into the air box?

That is usually caused by more than one quart of oil in the crank case. Drain the oil and just put one quart in, that should fix the problem. You will need a new air filter tho!!

Check the oil for gas contamination. I had a similar problem--oil in the breather, along with gas in the oil, raising the oil level. A thorough carb cleaning and a new OEM float valve fixed the problem.

Thanks for the help. Where is the best place to get the float? No local business around here to deal with.

J38-14150-00-00 Part number for the float/needle valve, #22 in the diagram. When I did mine, I ordered new jets and a new idle adjustment screw (#5), too...
