Default Engine Rebuild - 'Cough'

I recently rebuilt my G29 Golf cart motor.

Did a .25MM bore job new piston, rings and seals, also reworked the head and new valves. I have one issue that I was looking for some guidance.

If I accelerate by pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor from a complete stop, it will 'cough' (not sure of the proper technical term) one time. On occasion if I am at full throttle and completely release the gas it will also cough.

I checked the Valves 5 times @ TDC prior to putting motor back in they are at .004. I have also checked it in the golf cart and it is at .004.

Thanks,

My guess is that you need to reject the carb. If you've got more air entering and exiting the engine now with your modifications I would think a fuel adjustment is needed.

Try enriching the idle mixture, not having an accelerator pump you need a little more fuel to carry through the momentary drop in vacuum.

What clutches are you running in your cart?
Stock team or the newer design ones?

Are your clutches the original ones and are they any good?
