Rear tire rubbing against frame-need help
I have a 2001 Yamaha G19 and my rear passenger tire is rubbing against the mud flap area. I noticed today that that tire is doesn't stick out (outside the wheel frame area) as far (only 1 inch) compared to the other 3 (3 inches) from the frame. What could this be and how do I go about fixing it.
I am a new golf cart owner, but am pretty handy so I would like to find a solution that involves me fixing it and saving some money. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Rear tire rubbing against frame-need help
Is the cart lifted? The rear suspension has a panhard rod (Yamaha calls it a "connecting rod) that locates the axle left to right. Most all lift kits come with a mounting plate to relocate the rod's frame mounting point to compensate for the extra distance used in height. Some installers leave them off, or home made lifts may not have anything there at all.
Another possibility, even if it's not lifted, is that the rod may be bent. I've seen people either pull the cart or jack it up on that rod & bend them in the process. |

Or the panhard rod could be bent.

Thank you for the replies. It is not lifted. Could it possible be the shock being worn out spit saga a little on that side which causes the running?

Not saga. That makes it "sag"

Did you just purchase this cart ?
If not I persum it wasn't like this before. Check the distance of both and make sure they are the same distance from mounting area to edge of rim. Tires the same size ? Let me know what you find out. |

Re: Rear tire rubbing against frame-need help
So you checked the panhard bar, and it wasn't bent? Even if the shock were totally broken, doesn't explain this. The panhard bar locates the axle in it's position, the shocks only support weight, they don't locate the axle like a leaf spring.
