G9 Resistor on Solenoid?
Just bought a non-running G9e (resistor cart) for a project. It came with a resistor across the large terminals of the solenoid.
If I recall correctly, this resistor is for electronic controllers only and should not be there on a resistor cart? Can someone confirm? This solenoid resistor gets very hot and it seems obvious why, LOL. I just want to be 100 sure I am not missing something before I remove it. |

Re: G9 Resistor on Solenoid?
The resistor is used to precharge the electronic speed controllers...so you would not need one. Just a heads up - they do get hot if the motor is calling for power and the solenoid is not closed.

Replaced solenoid and wired correctly and cart runs really good in spite of its age. |
