Considering a Yamaha cart, questions
So I'm looking at selling both my carts (club cars) and upgrading to one newer cart (2010+) I know enough about the club cars and EZGO carts to know what I'm looking at but I have 0 experience with the Yamaha carts. There is a place pretty close to me that sells/modifies used carts and most of what he has are newer Yamahas. Is there anything I need to look for or stay away from in these? are speed upgrades relatively easy? I don't want to lift it so not worried about that. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated!

if you get a G29 model, the first thing you want to do is ditch the weak Moric controller and tin can Hitachi motor and go with Plowman's Riot Kit. Call Don Plowman at Plowman's Carts and he'll walk you through it. He can configure for speed or torque or both. You won't be disappointed. he's a site sponsor

Agreed. Also, search the forum white tag vs. yellow tag on the transaxle. I can't recall which one is best, but one of them is trash.

Re: Considering a Yamaha cart, questions
Early drive electrics had a Team axle with a bad gear in it. Gear wasn't hard enough, and wore out often. It can be identified by it's white tag on the top of the rib near the fill plug. Newer versions had yellow, then green, then blue tags. All were good after the white tag.

Re: Considering a Yamaha cart, questions
There are tons of posts regarding this, but if i recall it's not a matter of if it will fail, but a matter of when. A gear issue which was addressed in 2011 i think.

Re: Considering a Yamaha cart, questions
It was bad enough that Yamaha sent out reps to collect oil samples from the axles.
