Default G9 moves when put in Fwd or Rev

Recently acquired a 1991 G9 electric golf cart 36v, charged and then hooked up all batteries and as soon as you put it into gear either forward or reverse it starts to move. It doesn’t matter if the key is on or off it creeps anytime it is in gear. Not real sure what it could be. Double checked that all the wiring is hooked up properly and cleaned making good cantact. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would bench test to solenoid, sounds like the inner contacts are stuck/welded. Or check for continuity between the 2 big posts.

Is this a "motor controller" cart, or "resistor coil" cart? This sounds like a G2 problem. So I looked at the parts list, the 1991 g9 is a resistor cart. Sounds like welded solenoid.

It could easily be a problem with the switch for the pedal as well. I just had to change one on a G2E.

I checked the pedal switch and it works fine, I checked the solenoid and get continuity between the large posts but not the small posts. It is a resistor coil cart and that all seems to be in working order from what I can tell, not sure how to check those coils. I think I am gonna order a solenoid and try that. Thank you guys

F&R movement Still happens when key is off. Pedal switch has no power when key is off. So, unless key switch and pedal switch are both welded ON, that theory doesn't work.
