I think it must be a 16>12 reducer and they just have it hooked up strange. Customer took the cart for now and we're going to order (eventually) a real 48>12 reducer for it. I like the ones ScottyB has and will probably order one of those for it. She mentioned putting a head unit in it and the 30A unit he sells would be perfect for that plus the lights and maybe a little fan to blow some air around in the funky cab that's on it. |

It definitely looks like a voltage reducer but maybe it was just connected incorrectly.

It is a 16 to 12 voltage reducer.
