'89 G2, will other later model bodys fit?

i have a guy lined up for a body, only he doesn't know what it's "newer Yamaha body than '89 "

plan is to paint a body and have it ready to swap out when i re-ring the motor

A later body won't be a straight bolt on, you will have to build / modify mounting points.
