Re: Help with Speed/Power
Reverse gear ratio is smaller, so yes, you will feel a quicker start and a slower top speed in reverse......

Re: Help with Speed/Power
Could be F/R connections, could be a controller, could be the ITS, could be a number of things?

Re: Help with Speed/Power
I see it. I just can't believe someone sold you tires / wheels / lift kit and didn't tell you that the 4 gauge kit was a MUST with electric carts...

4ga wire is .20431 diameter. 6ga is .16202. Google is your friend (-:

Re: Help with Speed/Power
I GPS'd it on flat street tonight and came in at a constant 13 MPH. Would an upgrade to 4 GA help with a stock controller and motor? I also checked the diameter of the wires and it looks like maybe the previous owner switched out the Battery cables with 4 GA (5/16 inch diameter and RED) but the controller wires and to the motor look like they are a little under 1/4 inch (BLACK).

Re: Help with Speed/Power
my buddies farm cart has eaten a few f/r switches. hopefully that is what is wrong with it now. we have noticed speed/power to be better in one direction than the other when the switch is failing. his has an upgrade controller, lift and stock wires. I think they have been building too much heat. i ordered a solenoid, switch and 4ga cables for it yesterday.

Thats not totally correct. It depends on the MFG as to what is the final overall size. That is the AWG conductor size, not the size with insulation. The chinese don't care what the AWG spec says. They'll put as much insulation on there as it takes to make it LOOK like an AWG size to the unknowing customer. Buy a set of "HD jumper cables" from wally world and you'll see what I mean. |
