I replaced my 6 volt batteries with 8 volt batteries in my EZ-GO golf cart and now it will not run. Did i burn something up?

Re: 36-48 volt EZ-GO
If you are lucky you wired it wrong and did no damage ... But if you put 48v to a 36v system you can fry the solenoid and resistors and controller

Re: 36-48 volt EZ-GO
If you did that without upgrading the controller to a 48v controller you killed your stock controller and solenoid.

Re: 36-48 volt EZ-GO
Start what ???? repairing the 36v system or upgrading to 48v.? .... I would start reseaching how to upgrade to 48v since you have bought the batteries and may have already fried the 36v components?

Re: 36-48 volt EZ-GO
Like Scotty said,
If you've already got the 48 volt batts, and you wired everything correct..... and thus fried your 36 volt parts, I would spend the money on the 48 equipmen rather than going backward and replacing the 36. If your going to have to replace everything anyway, go for the 48. Just my .02 Good luck, Kev |

Re: 36-48 volt EZ-GO
Its may not be worth repairing the 36 volt system if the controller and solinoid are cooked. Might as well just upgrade everything to 48 volt. Check out this thread.

Re: 36-48 volt EZ-GO
look at your controller , if it reads : voltage 24-36, you probably fried it, if 36-48 it should be ok. kirk
