Wiring new plug on charger

White and black wires coming off of an old (supposedly working) Lester charger. I need to wire my crowsfoot plug on there. Do I do black wire to + and white to - or vice versa? I know black is hot in AC, ground in DC. Not sure which is right on this batt charger.

The BLACK wire must be connected to battery negative (-) and the WHITE (or RED) wire to battery positive (+).
