engine removal...?
Is there a recommended method to remove the engine on a club car? I just removed the engine from a carryall 2 and did it by removing the engine with the little "subframe" it sits on as a unit. I dropped it out the bottom. Would I have been better to pull just the engine out the top?
What about a DS or Precedent. Do they come out through the seat or the bottom or what? Curious.... BLES |

Re: engine removal...?
I just lift the engine out of the top ... on a golf car I remove the rear body first.
I have a hoist in the ceiling so I lift the engine and roll the cart away. |

Re: engine removal...?
About 8 bolts .... easier to me than working through the seat hole.... somebody else might disagree. But I feel like like I can do a better job when I can easily see and access the who cart like this, just my preference. After all, when you pull the motor it is not the only thing that is ready for a rebuild.....

Re: engine removal...?
I agree with Scotty. I removed the body on my DS and lifted the motor out the top.

Re: engine removal...?
Did it save time or was just easier to work on? Sounds like it's the way to go... just curious.

Re: engine removal...?
to me pulling the engine out of the seat hole is akin to rebuilding a carburetor in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket.

Re: engine removal...?
Pulled the engine on a DS today. Removed the body first. Engine was easy that way, but it di take a while to get the body off. Seat backs, canopy, etc.. Also learned a DS is much easier than a Carryall. The engine just has the 4 bolts through the bottom and 2 into the rear of the engine that are easy to get at. Carryall was harder to get at the rear bolts.
