Cart Fires???
Any body else see this news story?
http://www.accessnorthga.com/detail.php?n=236129 "Garage fire traced to golf cart" no info on what kind of cart, too bad. How often has this happened with gas CCs? Any types or brand known for this problem? Just wondering, never gave it a second thought after parking. Kind of like mower or car, etc. Just ride and park when your done. Maybe more care should be given. |

Re: Cart Fires???
Electric carts carry a lot of energy and gas has both fuel and spark. Just wait until electric cars start getting some age on them. One big Hollywood name lost a warehouse of collectibles due to an electric Towncar just last year.

Re: Cart Fires???
A cart fire burned a home in The Villages of Lady Lake, FL several years ago. Everyone in The Villages owns a golf cart. Batteries produce hydrogen gas, which on-fire is colorless and smokeless to start. Voltage regulators that fail overcharge batteries, sometimes drying all of the moisture from them (the voice of experience) and the heat of a dry battery that is being overcharged is extreme. They spit sulfuric acid when dry and overheated. Fuel leaking from a hot gas engine carburetor is a source of ignition too.
On the other hand, sometime a good fire is needed to make the mortgage payment. |
