Front Hub/Spacer Problem

I need to help or input on the best way to solve a problem with my front hub. I am trying to put 3 inch billet spacers on the hub to widen out my cart but there is a lip on the hub that will not allow the spacer to fit flush. I thought about have a machinest grind it down but I am worried about the integrity of the weld.

I am looking to see if anybody knows a sponsor that sells these type of hubs without this lip. It is on a 2005 Ezgo txt series cart with a lift kit. The hubs are about 1 to 1 1/4 inches longer than the standard hubs.

I think it would be better to relieve the billet spacer.

I cannot even get the spacer on the hub at this point as there is about a 1/4 inch gap. I had to take stock hubs and make a spacer to get them to work but do not like that set-up either. It is crazy but the tube through he hub is one solid tube and I do not understand why they welded it this way. They were made in Taiwan.

I think what Scotty is saying is to dremel/grind out the inside of the spacer on that backside to clear that ridge.

Well, I thought of that as well but that will not leave enough meat on the spacer to keep it safe in my mind. I would prefer to leave the spacer alone and fix the hub or get hubs without the lip.

Thanks for translating for Scotty as well becasue I totally missed that translation.

Can we see a picture of your spacer? I can not see how re-leaving that small amount would compromise the spacer.

Here is the spacer from Jake's. I have also attached another picture of the hub. It is close to 1/2 inch deep and close to 1/4 inch wider than the tube. Let me know what you think.

Spawn, I have those on there now with the billet spacers but had to create a 1 1/4 inch spacer as these hubs are shorter than the one's I am having a problem with. I do not like the set-up with these.

There is enough meat on those spacers to do what you need to do.
Take your spacers and a spindle to a machine shop, they can chuck it up in a CNC or Lathe and remove just enough material to fit.
It will not be an issue for the spacer. I would think twice about it.
