Default Won't start when warm.

So I'm having an issue with starting when the engine warms up. I pulled the oil soaked plug and cleaned off all the oil and sanded on it and it seamed to solve the problem for a tankful. But now we are back to square one. I am also getting a minute backfire and am running the 1oz:1 gal mix. Whats the best way to adjust the carb and what's the correct plug for my 84 Robin in case someone has used a incorrect temp? Might just have to do a compression check but if I can get away with this for a while I'll just buy an extra plug.

check several things when its hot.......make sure your not losing spark, make sure its not losing fuel and by all means do a compression test........also check crank seals, rear 1st than front.......................

Those symptoms DO match the early stages of crank seal failure ... Try this: jack up the rear wheels so it doesn't run away on you, and with a buddy handy, fire it up and run it at a steady, low speed just abouve idle. Have your buddy spray some carb cleaner or WD40 into the intake fan at the front of the motor, and again at the rear of the motor right where the crank exits. If either of these cause the RPM's to increase, you have a seal going bad and that would definitely explain your symptoms.

You should make a compression test first. If the compression is >100psi then it is proabably worth just changing the seals at $3.50 each.
