Default Newbie with 87 CC and questions

Just picked up an 87 Club Car (one owner) that has been garage kept etc and is in excellent shape and very clean..however, it has sat since i think around 2003-2005 without being ran. I have the carb off now for a good disassemble and cleaning. My question is the belts..look like they are dry and cracked and worn so i am going to replace. before taking the carb off i noticed that if i would try to get it to start, the cart would move forward when the motor was cranking. The drive belt is resting on the bottom of the drive clutch and is at the top of the driven clutch but is tight..I have seen posts where people say their belts are loose when at rest...this one isnt..is there any adjustments for this or anything? One other question..i am going to drain the oil in the KF82 and change the oil..did i read correctly on here somewhere that the capacity is 1 quart? Havent even looked yet, but is the drain plug easy to get to? thanks..

Drain plug is in the bottom of the motor about dead center on the carb side. Takes about 40 ounces of SAE30 or SAE 5W20. Don't forget to check/change the oil in the rear end and trans. (80W-90 API Class GL-3 or 80W-90 AGMA Class 5EP) To change these you'll need about 20 ounces for each.

Your belt should be pretty loose at rest...so much so, it can be taken off without removing the clutch. Make sure the correct size belt is on there. It should be loose enough to spin freely at idle. As far as the oil drain, it's pretty easy to reach...if you've still got the KF82 motor, its the bolt right in front at the bottom. Do a search on here an you should find all the maintenance specs. I would change the rear end and transmission fluid while you're at it.

Engine: 40 oz of SAE 5W 20 or SAE 30, API classification SE, SF, SE, or SE/CC Transmission: 20 oz of 80W-90 API class GL-3, 80W-90 AGMA Class 5EP
Rear end: 22 oz same oil as tranny

The pulley positions are correct so it does sound as though the wrong belt is on there. There is no real adjustment and the belt should have enough slack to allow you to remove and replace it fairly easily.

1st Picture looks like the S/ G belt. That should be tight. 2nd and 3rd pictures are kinda blurry. Hard to see what's going on there

I know the motor mounting plate on my 94 CC has elongated holes that the motor can slide back and forth in before tightening down...If the 87 has the same holes, is it possible the motor was tightened down too far forward?
