Default Newbie question about a tach

Hello all

I have a quick question. I recently picked up a 2000 gas CC and maybe having a rev limiter problem from what I have read. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with a tach similar to this one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tachometer-H...ht_2119wt_1174

The cart is cutting out at full throttle and I recently had a back fire. Suggestions are appreciated

Thanks!

my friend had one of those tachs, the first time it got wet it shorted out.
the one i have came from cartpartsplus, and is called a tiny tach. mine has been rained on, even spayed once or twice with a water hose. it didn't even fog up. just remember you get what you pay for.
here's a pic of mine

good luck

Fine if you have exceptional eyesight. You do however have the option of a regular tach (analog) via a simple trigger system or one triggered from the spark plug wire. Tiny tachs and there derivitives are just plain nasty imho. Hard to read and impractical in most applications.
Just my opinion

Just so you know every time we've by passed the governor on a gas powered cart when the ignition limiter kicks in while you keep it floored it will cause a back fire from time to time. On my yammy it blew the baffles out of the muffler on a bad one. We just hold the peddle down till it kicks in the slightly let up till the motor kicks back in then hold the throttle about 3/4's on flat ground. Of course since you ordered the tach already just disconnect the rev limiter and watch your rpms down hills.
