Re: how can i increase me speed 5 mph?
. . . from the Alltrax website:
"The DC electric motor controller (speed controller) interprets the battery to the electric motor. As the throttle is increased, the motor controller output power increases the motors speed and/or torque. Some controllers can also put some energy back to the battery called Regenerative Braking. |

Re: how can i increase me speed 5 mph?
I think you need to break it down or clarify a few statements here to satisfy the original question.
Will a bigger speed control increase speed? A bigger speed will increase the amount of amperage a motor can pull from the battery pack at a given time. That's an important statement. Most people think speed controllers feed motors amperage but they do not, they allow access. The motor will pull 100% of the available amperage it is connected to... In our care that's the battery pack. The controller limits this quantity. Increased Amperage increases motor torque. Increased Voltage increases motor speed. SO simply putting a bigger controller on a series cart will not in crease speed. It will increase torque which allows you to effectively turn taller tires or change to taller gears which would increase speed. Increasing the voltage and the amperage would increase torque and speed. Some aftermarket DCX controllers eliminate the rpm limit of stock controllers, this is perceived as an increase in speed but in fact is just a limit removal. This is why the 48v conversion is so popular in series drive carts. I hope this helps. Scottyb |
