Re: Motor won't run
I am lousy with electricity....but I reinstalled my motor in my 96 Club Car
today after replacing the guide ring. On the top of the motor as you face the motor (standing at the front of the cart at the headlights facing the rear of the cart, the tailights) there is a left terminal with a green wire and a right terminal with a orange wire. At the bottom of the motor there is a left terminal with a white wire and a right terminal with a blue wire. Hope this helps. |

Re: Motor won't run
Checked wiring diagrams, not sure which one is for the cart, I only have one solenoid the cart has a forward and reverse switch....does that mean there should be two solenoids?..
On the speed controller I was getting 50 volts on both terminals on the back...that should not be right?...I had a yellow wire with power on it but I believe the black is suppose to go to the main battery...so I remover speed controller and had a short from b+ to b- so does this mean bad speed controller???...I also put 50 volts direct to motor and motor turned..any help would be great....getting frustrated....lol. Thanks in advance.. |

Re: Motor won't run
It is very possible you fried the controller, they do not like sparks.

Re: Motor won't run
Get a diode for the solenoid, try golf cart king as I think they had a pretty good listing for diodes and resistors.
I would probably just get an upgraded controller at this point, say a 400 amp alltrax AXE, or search for a direct Curtis replacement. At least upgrading will allow a motor upgrade if you decide to in the future. |

Re: Motor won't run
What type of diode is it? And will the cart run for testing purposes without it?, the controller u mentioned will fit, it doesn't ave to be exact match correct? As long as it says it will work I guess, thanks

Re: Motor won't run
Go here, I think you have a 200 amp contactor so probably the 1 amp diode would work. You could also get a controller from these guys as well. They are great to work with and fast turn time. They ship worldwide and can do DHL delivery international 2-3 days.
