This wonderful, FREE, "chat board" is paid for by our sponsors, who usually aren't on here pushing their products. Their Products are being pushed by happy customers and fellow BGW users, they do deserve some respect. However I do agree it is nice to find other part sources for those who don't want to pay the extra price for experience. I'll certainly be checking out the dayco belts. |

Re: Belts
The happy customers or sponcers workers who never even tryed a Dayco belt can post there own thread, not slander my offer to open a door for people, is the point. This thread was for a quality low price convienent place to get a belt that will work just fine. Its all fine.... enjoy Daytona 500 today

Re: Belts
Ice , don't know what your talking about, but Plowman didn't get the reputation they have, selling repackaged parts. When you talk to these people, they know things you've never thought about. Dayco is a good company, sometimes those parts are good enough for some people. Anyway, i think I paid $30.00 for my Plowman belt 3 1/2 yrs. ago.
Enjoy!! |

Re: Belts
and yet still slandering my thread. make a thread praising your belt. this thread is a option for people who dont want to spend 80 bucks on shipping a drive and starter belt. They can go to auto zone and walk out with both the belts they need for 36 bucks.
I am not questioning anyone rep, I really dont care. |

Re: Belts
At last count I think this forum serves some 73,000 people +/-. Of those people there are many that are fortunate enough to build their carts as they choose using whatever parts they desire. Some, however must be very cost consious and use parts that may have to fit a very limited budget. I completely understand both. My particular cart uses some of both cause thats what I wanted. Our site sponsors are truly valued and deserve our support but as a businessman I can tell you none of them ever expected 100% loyalty from even a small portion of us. I've supported Plowman, East Coast Carts and Trademark.I've also supported E-Bay and other aftermarket people. I personally would rather see a member use non sponsor parts all the time rather than not participate. In my book its welcome to all and if we've not had the chance to walk in someone elses mocasins lets not be too quick to critique the way they spend their cash. Just my two cents for what its worth. Go for it Ice, I;m behind you!

Re: Belts
All that being said, I bought my upper end kit and secondary clutch performance kit from Plowmans which included jets, belts, clutch and muffler. Super good service and I'm very pleased with the quality.

Re: Belts
I'll start by saying that by nature I'm a cheap azz. I don't go out and buy the most expensive part if I can find one for a lot less and it works. After 61 yrs on this rock I've found that a large majority of the expensive parts are made by the same companies that make the cheap parts. Most parts dealers don't make their own parts, they simply contract with a manufacturer for X part and have their name put on it.
That being said, I believe that it is important to support the sponsors on here and often times you can get a part for the same price as anywhere else. I have boughten a few parts from our sponsors and was satisfied with the price. But remember, just because it has a certain name on the package or part doesn't necessarily mean it's a superior part. |
