Default wiring cd player to ignition switch?

Hello Guys/Gals. I am new to this forum. I own a 2003 EZgo TXT. I am in the process of installing an elite dash and cd player with speakers. My ignition is a 3way that includes the light switch. My goal is to have my cd player get power when the key switch is turned on, but not when it is turned all the way to the headlight position. I have a tested the ignition with a light tester. There is a constant power wire, and a wire that gets power when i turn the switch all the way to the head light position. However, there is not a live wire at the first turn position, that is until i have the cart running with the accelerator. I am trying to eliminate the need for another switch on the dash or wiring it up live all the time. Any suggestions or help would be great.

i had to wire mine straight to the battery myself,,works great and dont drain the battery like i thought it would..its a digital jvc old school radio..
took me weeks to finally get the noise out so i could hear it while driving also..if you have this problem i got a kit off e bay that had the antenna noise canceler and it didnt help,,then installed a kit called the elliminator that came with 2 filters..one for antenna and one for the radio that hooks close to the battery,it finally worked enough to hear the radio lol..still has a lil noise so i have to turn it up louder sorry this didnt help what your looking for,but someome will chime in soon im sure

I'm essentially doing the same thing that you are doing. I spent a little time yesterday with my DMM looking for a switched 12v source and finally gave up and decided to just use the power button on the deck itself.
Sorry this wasn't much help to you. Hopefully, somebody much smarter than I will chime in with a solution.

Thanks for the help guys. I just decided to put a switch on the dash. It will work well and looks good. I added an amplified antenna to the head unit as well. So, to the switch on the dash, I am running the receiver/cd player, the amplified antenna, and I added a 12 volt adapter so I can charge my cell phone. My head unit will be here tomorrow. I have everything else mounted and ready to hook up. Even have all the wiring done. Just need to add the receiver and mount the dash.

i got mine for what i feel was very cheap for what i got..like 60 bucks iirc..heres a link..i got the 2 color with the pleats in the seat area and really very happy with them,,they are molded perfect and easy to install..if intrested..took me about 12 days to get them as there made to order..you can even get different colored pipeing"the edges"or anything you want..
not worth doing it yourself as i see others have spent more on material
