Problems Assembling 1998 Driven Clutch
Need some helpful suggestions. I replaced the cam with a 28deg one and new buttons. Have assembled several times but moveable sheave does not open as turned with fixed sheave held in place.
I assembled moveable sheave into fixed sheave and inserted one end of spring into moveable sheave and the other into the cam. Then holding the moveable and fixed sheaves together I rotated the cam 140deg. Next I pressed down and engaged the cam in the splines; then applied the lockring. Before removing the clutch from the differential; I could open the moveable sheave by squeezing the belt with a moderate amount of pressure. When I marked the clutch parts with the original cam; it seemed there was almost no rotational preload. Help please! |
