I didn't say anything about a resistor or diodes wired backwards!, not all solenoids have a resistor and diodes, they should in my book, but not all do. I said, you can't wire a solenoid backwards, as in the positive +, and negative - small wires, and the two high current cables, DC voltage solenoids are not polarity sensitive

It is a Curtis 1510-5201 controller out of a 2003 IQ cart.

good luck with that!~ the diagram is not user friendly

Maybe David, or somebody familiar with the Regen to IQ conversion will be able to help...

Sorry quoted wrong post. Was telling cmalberto about resistor. my solenoid has both diode and resistor. I think on these you can wire the solenoid backwards as the diode has to be placed properly. Solenoid is marked + and -. Now without diode you can't wire backwards.

Even though you are using a curtis controller you could go to alltrax web site to get pin outs on 10 pin connection. 1 and 2 for throttle and 4 for reverse.

Not sure what you mean by not user friendly. It helped me connect all the wires in the new harness properly. According to David, when I started this project. The only difference between Regen II and IQ was the controller and Wiring harness. He did suggest adding the resistor. Everything else was compatable. And everything wired up and clipped into place. I did have to extend the solenoid low voltage wires as they were too short with where the solenoid was in the Regen system. I properly color coded them to make sure they went where schematic showed. Could the controller be bad? If so how could I check to make sure?

Checked wiring as per this schematic and it is hooked up the same. Didn't check forward pin 8 and rev pin 16

I just used the connections that was supplied with the new wiring harness from CC that I bought to connect to controller. I did replace the 10 gauge F1 and F2 wires with new 10 gauge wires. They needed to be 3" longer. I color coded them too.
