Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
That's a broken spring. You'll need a new spring, helix, and buttons. The sheave has some wear, but is still useable.

Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
So the helix is not usable either? Man some of these parts are expensive!

Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
The helix is chewed up pretty good. If you re-use it, it will just eat up the new buttons.

Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
Well I can't afford to replace everything right now, so I tried to "fix" it for the time being. I welded the spring back together and cleaned everything up pretty good and put her back together. The belt now sits pretty close to the top of the clutch, and the cart runs better than any old gasser I ever drove. It climbed up a dirt mound in the yard effortlessly. Now I know what I need to get to make her right, and she's still usable. Thanks all that helped me out.

Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
Still a little low. Post a WTB in the parts section for another driven clutch, never know..

Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
It should look more like this, the belt at the top of the clutch

Re: Belt Slipping/Squealing
Thanks for the info guys. It's definitely better than it was but don't know how long the spring will hold up with MY welding..lol. I will start shopping for the parts I need.
