UPDATE on Equus Tach (still erratic)
Well guys, I was pleased to see the replacement inductive pickup arrived yesterday.
Hooked it up today...using the correct setting...and it still is erratic. Will go to about 2500...then drop to 1000....then to 0. Seems to function correctly to about 2000 (or so) before it gets wacky. My first thought was to contact Amazon about a return...but I figured I'd check with you all first. I've got too much time in this now and am loosing interest. I'm sorry to admit that I'm thinking I shouldn't expect anything more from a tach that cost me $55 shipped. For the record, I've tried to turn the pickup around...but then it doesn't work at all. One thing I did find strange. The replacement pickup came "sun discolored" on one side....like it was sitting somewhere a long time. |
